AUTOFLOWContinuous decontamination systems for liquid waste free of solids.
The AUTOFLOW™ Effluent Decontamination (AFD) System sterilizes liquid laboratory waste that is free from solids from BSL-3, BSL-AG, BSL-3 Enhanced, and BSL-4 research labs.

Process
Lab drains gravity feed into the AUTOFLOW™ system where the PLC controlled operation matches the decontamination rate to the rate of lab generation. The effluent is maintained at the proper decontamination temperature for a minimum of 20 minutes to assure reaching the desired 10-6 probability of a Possible Non-Sterile Unit (PNSU).

Balancing the decontamination rate to the discharge rate allows the heat recovery and cooling systems to be more efficient than units with a typical batch cycle operation. Energy costs are about 25% of a system without this built in energy recovery.

This energy recovery system cools the sterilized effluent to below 140 °F for easy disposal to the waste water treatment facility.

Benefits
The AUTOFLOW™ system is designed in a single cabinet configuration for simple installation. There is no need for steam, condensate return, cooling water or compressed air connections. Electric power is the only utility required.

Sizing
AUTOFLOW™ systems are available in many different sizes with maximum throughputs of 400 to 12,000 gallons per day.
